Borras Continue to Lead the Way on New Build Housing

Borras Residential Division are proud to have recently set up site in Brentwood on a £1.4m project to construct 7 properties across two separate sites. The project, on behalf of Brentwood Borough Council, is the first new build properties the housing department have built in over 25 years.

This scheme adds to other recent residential projects which reflect the growing nationwide need to improve and increase the amount of quality council housing stock. 2015 saw us deliver 18 new build terraced and semi detached houses for Harlow District Council, the first they have constructed since the 1980’s. This success was soon followed by the award of a £7.7m scheme to design and build 12 houses and 19 flats for the London Borough of Haringey which again, represented the first new council properties in the Borough for over 25 years.

The works in Brentwood are expected to last 30 weeks and will involved the construction of 4 bungalow’s on the first site at Fawters Close. These properties will be for residents aged 65+ and adapted for wheelchair access if required, they will also have garden space and a small secondary room that can accommodate a carer if necessary.

The second site at Magdalen Gardens will see three timber framed 3-bedroom family homes constructed, all with welcoming living and dining space at the rear of the property looking out into a generous garden.
