Borras host ‘Meet the Builders’ Day
Local residents and visitors to Watford’s Cassiobury Park were given the opportunity to ‘Meet the Builders’ behind the parks ambitious £5.5m renovation project on Tuesday 16th August.
Borras Construction together with Watford Council used the event to engage with the local community and explain exactly what changes are to be expected within Watford’s largest public open space. Artist impressions, footage of progress thus far and the project team on hand for any question’s ensured everyone walked away excited for the park’s grand reopening in 2017.
It’s no surprise the event proved popular, Cassiobury Park attracts around 2 million visits per year
Safety booklets and activity packs highlighting the dangers of construction sites, photo opportunities with our digger’s and free ice cream for any children willing to take part in our treasure hunt help to draw crowd’s on what was a beautiful, sunny afternoon. The day was capped off when Site Manager Chris Yates drew the name of the treasure hunt’s lucky winner and recipient of a £50 Toys R Us voucher.
Borras are working in partnership with architects Know Bhavan and surveyors F.T. Allen to deliver the project which is scheduled for completion in early 2017.
Thank you to everyone who attended, feedback from some of the visiting parents highlighted the success of the day:
“My son was understandably disappointed that the paddling pools were under construction and unable to have the usual frolic in the water, however it was a welcome distraction and not only was he delighted with the contents of your pencil case and slap bracelet he has engaged in the “stay safe” booklet today and has thoroughly enjoyed working through it and learning some lessons and information. I commend the efforts and the difference the company has made to countless children who partook during the course of the day.” – Ms B Granat
