Borras Raise Over £11,000 for the Herts Air Ambulance
Representatives from Borras were delighted to recently hand over a cheque worth £11,476 to our latest charity partner, the Herts Air Ambulance.
The Herts Air Ambulance is a completely self-funding organisation and relies upon donations such as these to keep them operational. With over 1,900 missions flown since it was founded, the service runs 7 days a week and requires £480,000 a month to keep the two aircraft operational.
Our donation was raised following the completion of a mammoth 50 mile kayak challenge by 16 plucky Borras staff back in September. The team, who had little kayaking experience between them set off along the Upper Thames from Faringdon, Oxfordshire on September 26th and finished up in Dorchester on Thames the following afternoon, even managing to find time along the way save a sheep’s life.

Several members of the kayak team heard first hand how their hard work would make a difference during a tour of the ambulance’s Buntingford base prior to the cheque presentation last week.
