Brooklands Gardens Update
Borras began on site at Brooklands Gardens, a sheltered housing complex in Market Harborough in May 2014.
The £4.75m project, which is on behalf of Seven Locks Housing will see the site expand from a 51 to a 67 apartment facility boasting state-of-the-art facilities.
As residents are remaining on site throughout the project, works have been phased to avoid disruption, this is allowing residents from the areas that are being renovated to move into other parts temporarily.
Phase 1 is now nearing completion and has involved:
- The demolition of an existing structure attached to the main building (pictured below left)
- The refurbishment of Orchard House, an existing three storey building which is now home to 16 one and two bedroom apartments
- The construction of a two storey extension which will home a communal lounge area, several new apartments and staff offices (pictured below right)
- Construction of a new build link which will connect the two main buildings on site
Phase 2 will see the refurbishment of existing properties and the provision of an additional 15 within a separate building on site, Oak Tree House.
The scheme is being completed by our Social Housing team and is due for completion in Autumn 2015.
The Site Manager provided a brilliant interface between the contractor, the sub-contractors and the school and ensured that the site was tidy and safe at all times.
