Community Engagement Project – Bury Green Garden
Whilst recently completing the £1.5m refurbishment of Thomas Sparrow House in Wheathampstead Borras worked together with the local Parish Council and WDPS (Wheathampstead and District Preservation Society) to transform a small piece of land opposite the site.
The previously underutilised and unloved land, which is owned by the Parish Council was redesigned into an attractive, peaceful community garden, complete with new paths, fencing, flower beds and seating.
Before and after the works
Borras Construction supported the project by donating materials and labour, a gesture which was appreciated by Councillor Judy Shardlow, Chairman, Bury Green Garden Working Group:
“Borras Construction have been wonderful in supporting the creation of a beautiful small garden in the heart of our village. With their skills and expertise, they have cleared the site, provided some beautiful willow fencing, and built an attractive circular path which leads to a small patio at the far end of the garden. We are extremely grateful for their help in getting this project off the ground”

I am writing to say that the process was excellent, and they have made a superb job of our kitchen. Nothing was too much trouble, and the workmen were very courteous, worked extremely hard, and had an excellent attention to detail in every way.
