Start on Site Ceremony Takes Place at Brooklands Gardens
Borras started the £4.75m renovation of Brooklands Gardens, a sheltered housing complex in Market Harborough in May 2014.
The scheme for Seven Locks Housing will see the current 50 bedroomed site dramatically remodelled into a 60 bedroomed state-of-the-art facility. The mix of one and two bedroom flats will be modernised with new kitchens bathrooms, balconies and patio doors.
An existing single storey building has already been demolished to make way for a new linked two storey structure which will hold the new restaurant and reception area.
Work will take place in two stages allowing residents from the half of the building being renovated to move into the other half temporarily.
The ceremony took took place on June 27th and was attended by several local councillors, representatives from Seven Locks Housing and residents from Brooklands Gardens.
Seven Locks Executive Director Deborah Bennett said: “we are delighted to reach such a major milestone in the redevelopment of Brooklands Gardens as works starts on site. Today marks the start of the transformation of Brooklands Gardens into our flagship older persons’ scheme”
The project is being managed by Site Manager Rob Marks with completion due autumn next year.
I wanted to write a thank you to your team, particularly the two Site Managers for their professional approach to this project, their excellent customer care and perseverance on a very difficult site.
