Brackley Town Hall wins a RIBA East Midlands Award

A total of eight East Midlands projects have won 2019 RIBA East Midlands Awards. The prestigious awards ceremony, hosted by BBC East Midlands Political Editor, Tony Roe, took place at Nottingham Trent University in May.

Borras was awarded a RIBA East Midlands Award for the successful restoration and delivery of the amazing, Brackley Town Hall. This was a beautiful project that continues to receive great positive feedback from the local and wider community.

Borras Awarded CCS Bronze Award For Remodelling Works At Royal Foundation of St Katharine

Held in April at Plaisterers’ Hall, London, the CCS (Considerate Constructors Scheme) awards recognise extraordinary achievements in improving the image of the construction industry; measuring contractors on their consideration towards the public, environment and their workforce.

Borras were proud to receive this CCS Bronze award on the day for the successful delivery of remodelling works, which were carried out last summer at the Royal Foundation of St Katharine. Well done to our Site Manager, Ray Acraman and all others involved in this project.

Builders Conference 'Rising Star' (Apprentice/Trainee) Award

The Builders’ Conference is the UK construction industry’s premier pure data provider and leading Trade Body, providing members with up to the minute sales leads, market intelligence, statistical data and networking opportunities. The Builders’ Conference deal with over 11,000 projects and contract opportunities each year worth in excess of £50billion. Members monitor, apply for and win work every week using their real-time data platform.

Borras was delighted to be named this year’s ‘Rising Star‘ (Apprentice/Trainee) award winner and the trophy was collected by Mike Howlett, Managing Director.

Borras bring home 2 of the Hertfordshire Building Futures Awards

The Hertfordshire ‘Building Futures Awards 2018′ were recently held on October 4th and we’re proud to announce that we picked up two big awards on the night.

Our Borras London Division celebrated once again after being named winner for the ‘Most Sustainable Construction‘ award, after being short-listed for one of our most credited projects, Cassiobury Park Hub Building, Watford.

Following on from what had already been a huge achievement, it was then time for the big announcement being ‘Project of the Year’, awarded again for the regeneration of Cassiobury Park, Watford.

What the Judges said: “An outstanding example of how modern sustainable construction can be provided simply. The social sustainability aspects of The Hub are particularly noteworthy, having resulted in the sensitive regeneration of an important area of Cassiobury Park, by providing an area for healthy outdoor play and recreation for generations to come.”

Two Silver's For Borras At The Considerate Constructors Awards

Held on April 18th 2018 at Plaisterers’ Hall, London the awards recognise extraordinary achievements in improving the image of the construction industry; measuring contractors on their consideration towards the public, environment and their workforce.

The two successful projects, both of which were awarded Silver awards and delivered by our specialist London Division, were the regeneration of Cassiobury Park in Watford and the construction of the new Victor Churchill Building at the Royal Foundation of St Katherine’s.

South East BSG Member of the Year

Borras were delighted to have been named the South East BSG Member of the year at the recent Building Safety Group Awards. The Building Safety Group specialise in providing health, safety and environmental advice for the construction industry and are the largest safety group of their kind.

The awards took place at the Williams F1 Conference Centre and was attended by over 100 delegates representing member companies located throughout the UK.

British Safety Council's International Safety Award

Borras are delighted to announce that we were awarded the British Safety Council’s International Safety Award for the seventh consecutive year, this year however is the first time we have received a Distinction, making us one of only 43 companies to receive this honour!

Local Authority Building Control Building Excellence Award

Borras were recently awarded the ‘Best Social or Affordable New Housing Development’ project for the Central Region at the LABC Building Excellence Awards.

The LABC Building Excellence awards span across England and Wales and celebrate the essence of good building, they award projects that display technical excellence, innovation, green and sustainable practises, good team working with local authorities and creative problem solving.

Borras received the award for our Special Works project ‘Westminster Drive’, a specialist care home for children up to the age of 18 in Milton Keynes. Borras worked in partnership with Stenton Obhi Architects and Hewitt Freeborn Associates to deliver the new build home for Milton Keynes Council.


BREEAM is the Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method for buildings. It sets out the standard for best practice in sustainable design and has become the recognised measure to describe a building’s environmental performance.

Borras have previously been awarded Very Good ratings for works at Hounslow Heath Primary School (London), Woodland View Primary School (Northampton) and St Matthews Primary School (Luton) as well as an Excellent award for our Broughton Pavilion Project (Milton Keynes).


Considerate Constructors

Borras is committed to the Considerate Constructors Scheme and we make sure we register 100% of our sites.

Over the years, we have been awarded several accolades including silver awards  for both Cassiobury Park, Watford and the Victor Churchill Building at the Royal Foundation of St Katherine’s. Further bronze awards have been received for our South Cambridgeshire Decent Homes scheme and Performance Beyond Compliance certificates for two recent projects at Wendover House School (Wendover) and Ivybridge Primary School (Hounslow).
