In Progress – Horwood Court
Borras’ Social Housing team have been on site at Horwood Court, a two storey sheltered housing complex in Watford since June 2015. The £1.9m project, which is on behalf of Watford Community Housing Trust involves dramatic internal alteration work to the building’s internal layout, converting existing bedsits into state-of-the-art independent living flats.
Works have been phased, allowing residents to remain on site throughout the project. Once Phase 1, the creation of 18 new properties in the north block is complete residents will be able to move into the newly refurbished flats from the south block, allowing phases 2 and 3 to begin.
Phase 2 involves work to the central block of the building. A large communal area will be refurbished and a new build link constructed, connecting the north and south blocks.
Phase 3 will see the remaining properties in the south block transformed from 19 existing bedsits into 14 one and two bedroom flats across the two floors.
Borras are working with consultants Avebury Projects and Pulse Associates to deliver the scheme which is scheduled for completion in June 2016.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Borras to any other school and will be happy to include them on any tender list for future projects at Richard Hale School.
