Christ Church Ware Internal Refurbishment
Ware, Hertfordshire

CLIENT: Christ Church, Church of England, Ware
ARCHITECT: MEB Design Ltd
QUANTITY SURVEYOR: AMS Ltd
VALUE: £1,036,000
CONTRACT PERIOD: 42 Weeks
This project was carried out in partnership with Christ Church, Church of England in Ware, Hertfordshire. Extensive planning and communication throughout the process was key to ensuring the project was delivered on time and met the requirements.
Our Special Works team set up site upon the premise, carrying out initial works in 2019. The Grade II listed building, opened in 1974 has recently had to turn away local community groups due to limited space, encouraging plans for expansion. The works set out for the restoration of Christ Church, Ware included:
- New front gable
- New mezzanine and spiral staircase
- Kitchenette and toilet areas
- Inclusion of a crèche.
The newly refurbished church now boasts a huge transformation for the local community, with host space for concerts, plays and exhibitions as well as worship.
Being located on a busy and narrow road, we had to carefully plan our deliveries of resources which made the process challenging. We worked with partners, MEB Design and AMS Ltd to complete this scheme of works.
