Shenley Brook End & Tattenhoe Parish Council Offices
Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire
CLIENT: Shenley Brook End & Tattenhoe Parish Council
ARCHITECT: Stenton Obhi Architects
QUANTITY SURVEYOR: NTN Partnership
CONTRACT PERIOD: 43 Weeks
Completed by our Special Works team in July 2016, this scheme involved the construction of a new headquarters and offices for Shenley Brook End and Tattenhoe Parish Council.
The new one and two storey traditional block and brick structure was constructed on an existing greenfield site in a built up residential area adjacent to a small shopping centre. Update newsletters were issued regularly to all neighbouring properties informing them of any disruptive works or major deliveries to site.
The two storey section of the building features a prominent entrance lobby with full height glazing, two large open plan office spaces and ancillary areas for both staff and public use. The single storey east side of the building homes a new purpose built council chamber with a vaulted acoustic ceiling and linked meeting room.
Externally a new car park, access road and outbuilding were also constructed. The building was built to the latest environmental standards which will result in far lower running and maintenance costs than the council’s previous offices.
It is hoped the new building and improved facilities will not only save the council money but also be more accessible to the public.
