At Borras Construction, we recognise the importance of educational services and what they mean for generations to come. We have extensive experience of developing educational facilities and nurturing the great relationships we have with our clients and schools we have worked with.
This ambitious expansion project involved the construction of a link block, situated between two existing blocks on the premises, successfully completed by Borras in 2018.
Abbots Hill School dates back to 1912, founded by sisters Alice, Katrine and Mary Baird, originally opened as an independent boarding school for girls. Situated in 76 acres of parkland, the grounds and facilities at Abbots HIll School include a day nursery, preschool, junior/senior school, art and design studios, science laboratories, a performing arts and sports complex, swimming pool, lacrosse pitches, netball and tennis courts, an outdoor gym and running track with landscaped grounds that also provide opportunities for cross country running.
Our General Contracts team set up our site compound in July 2017, with works following though to July 2018. Location of our site compound and delivery of resources had to be carefully thought through, with the school remaining in occupation throughout the works. In addition to the new link block completed by Borras, we also carried out further local refurbishment and configuration of other existing buildings linked with the project, and additional external works.
