ARCHITECT: Ingleton Wood
QUANTITY SURVEYOR: Capita
VALUE: £4,000,000
CONTRACT PERIOD: 25 Weeks
This £4.0m scheme, which is currently being completed by our General Contracts team, consists of the transformation of The Marlowes Business Centre in Hemel Hempstead to form a new modern, state-of-the-art Health facility.
The four storey building, which was previously made up of several commercial office spaces has been completed stripped out. The majority of services, partitions, fixtures and fittings were removed during the initial demolition phase which began in May 2017, immediately following our occupation of the site.
The next phase, which is currently in progress involves the extensive refurbishment of every floor. These works include new flooring, suspended ceilings, decorations, the installation of new lifts, the erection of new internal walls to create a new layout and external works to form additional parking.
Once complete both adult and children’s physical and mental health services will be co-located within the facility, helping them work closer together for the benefit of service users and patients.
The ground floor will home a large reception and waiting area along with dental services, including 3 dentist surgeries. Several therapy, consultation and clinical rooms across the first and second floors will host Children and Adult services with the top floor consisting of office and administration space for centre staff.
We worked with architects, Ingleton Wood to deliver the scheme completed in November 2017.
