Haven Green Baptist Church

Ealing, London

CLIENT: Haven Green Baptist Church
ARCHITECT: Cotterell Thomas & Thomas LLP
QUANTITY SURVEYOR: Cotterell Thomas & Thomas LLP
VALUE: £480,000

The works to Haven Green Baptist Church consisted of a variety of elements including:

  • Re-roofing, re-slating and installation works
  • Overhauling the spire (new lead, replacement louvers and minor structural repairs)
  • New window and openers and stone repairs
  • New lighting ‘raise & lower’ units
  • Various electrical works
  • Installation of sump pumps

Sustainable initiatives included the re-use of slate from the roof and the recycling of materials such as lead and wood. Cost savings were provided to the client through the provision of alternative insulation materials and Borras were able to add value through the creation of a new walkway providing much improved and safer access to the loft.

Community wise, the team forged a strong relationship with the church members; this was initially developed via an introductory talk by former Managing Director Chris Wright prior to works commencing. Following this the team enjoyed a meal provided by the congregation upon completion and attended the official opening alongside the local MP.
