At Borras Construction, we’re committed to delivering works efficiently, whilst understanding the vision of our clients and their communities. This project, carried out by our Residential team, in partnership with English Heritage, involved extensive planning and delivery to achieve the completed major internal and external refurbishment of the historic, Grade II* listed building.
Located in Highgate, North West London, home to the Grade I listed Kenwood House, the Stable Block is also sat within the 112 acre, Kenwood Estate. The grounds attract over a million people each year, viewing art and overlooking Hampstead Heath with a stunning view across London.
This project saw the complete restoration of the Grade II* listed building, which now provides a mix of staff accommodation and apartments for commercial let. The building had been functioning as residential property after being subdivided for this purpose in the 1930’s, however the building had fallen into disrepair.
The works were challenging, in busy surroundings, and we managed to achieve the completed project retaining many of the original historic features dating back to the 1930’s. We worked with partners, Acanthus Clews Architects and Firmingers LLP to complete this scheme of works.
