Special Works delivering the new Nicholls Field Pavilion
Borras Special Works team have been on site at Nicholls Field in Harlow since November 2016. In partnership with Graham Ellis Associates and GJT Architects we are working to deliver a new and improved Pavilion/Community Centre for Harlow District Council.
Demolition works in progress
The existing single storey pavilion, which has stood unoccupied for over 6 years will be partially demolished, repaired and extended to create the new structure. To date, large amounts of demolition work has already been carried out, with only the foundations a few of the major structural walls remaining, which will now be built around.
The new facility’s design has virtually the same layout of the building it is replacing and will feature a large karate hall, changing facilities, WC’s and showers once completed. Works are also being carried out to improve the drainage of the surround playing fields the centre will serve.

Site Manager Glenn Maddison is handling the £710k scheme, which is scheduled for completion by June 2017.
That the project received a highly commended award from the Hertford Civic Society was a very fair measure of the amount of work which all parties had put in to the project
