Update from site: Brackley Town Hall

Our General Contracts team have now been on site at the stunning Grade II* listed Brackley Town Hall for 50 days and works are progressing well with big changes clear to see.

The prestigious £2.6m restoration project, which is Heritage Lottery Funded, involves dramatic refurbishment and alteration works across the buildings three floors. A new cafe, entrance lobby and council offices will be created on the ground floor, the first floor Civic Hall will be carefully restored and the existing attic space will be transformed into open plan holiday let accommodation.

Works progressing within the Lower Hall where the Victorian flooring is now on show

A lot has changed since Brackley Mayor Fiona Baker ceremonially handed over the keys to Borras Site Manager Rob Marks at the start of January. Internal demolition of non structural elements including walls and an existing mezzanine floor is complete and the concrete flooring on the ground floor has now been removed to reveal Victorian flagstones, which are now undergoing careful restoration works.

Externally, scaffolding has been flying up, due to the listed status of the Hall it cannot touch the building, once complete it will go all the way up and over the top of the building to become a self supporting structure.

We are working with Haverstock Architects and surveyors D.R. Nolans & Co to deliver the scheme which is scheduled to last 78 weeks. Visit the below link for updates and photos from site!
