The £690k scheme was completed by our Special Works division over 31 weeks and was awarded through the SMARTE East framework agreement on behalf of Hertfordshire County Council. Works encompassed the demolition of the existing hall followed by the design and build of a replacement. The previous hall dated back to the 1940’s and required significant asbestos removal works before demolition could begin.
Now complete the building features acoustic ceiling tiles and wall panels, underfloor heating, passive air vents, black out blinds and a state-of-the-art kitchen. The single storey, steel framed structure now provides far improved facilities to the school, highlighted by year 4 pupil Ruby during her short talk at the opening: “now at lunch we have much nicer food with the new kitchen”.
