Works Ongoing at Hitchin Town Hall

Borras began works to Hitchin Town Hall in December 2013, the £3.1m project will see the refurbishment of the existing Town Hall and expansion of the site to accommodate a new museum.

The new museum will combine the collections of the current Hitchin and Letchworth Museums into one accessible North Hertfordshire Museum, providing far more space than is currently available to display the regions heritage.

The Museum will be formed from the existing Gymnasium and Workman’s Hall with space being created for the prominent entrance through the demolition of two adjacent properties (formally high street shops).

The new museum will provide improved opportunities for participation with dedicated learning and activity space for schools and special interest groups, the project is due for completion early 2015.
